Mourne Mountains

Slieve Donard rises 850 metres almost straight out of the sea at Newcastle, and is the highest point in Northern Ireland. The Mourne Wall runs right over the top of it — over thirty kilometres of dry stone, built by hand between 1904 and 1922 to enclose the catchment, and still standing.

More of the Mournes to come.
