Peak District
Britain's first national park, and the most politically important walking country in England. The mass trespass of April 1932 started on Kinder Scout, five men were jailed for it, and the right to roam most walkers now take for granted can be traced to that afternoon.
Mam Tor is the other one — the Shivering Mountain, whose shale keeps sliding. It took the A625 with it in 1979, and the broken road is still lying there.
